Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore is a Hollywood writer and actor who's talent has brought her recognition as well as critical praise. Sagittarius. Her birthplace was in North Carolina, on 3rd December 1960. She's the oldest of three siblings. She was born to Peter Moore Smith who was an Army paratrooper. Her mother Anne is a psychotherapist. She is of English-Scottish descent. Due to her father's job the Moore family often relocated and she was unable to form friendships or maintain ones. Moore started acting in plays at Frankfurt American High School when the family moved to Germany. She furthered her education through Boston University, graduating in 1983 with the degree of a B.F.A. in Theater. Following graduation, Moore began her off-Broadway career in New York. In the episode The Edge of Night in 1985, Moore appeared in her first on-screen appearance. The break came in 1986 when she portrayed the role of Sabrina Hughes as well as Frannie Hughes in the show The World Turns. She starred on the show as the World Turns until 1988. For her role she won a Daytime Emmy Award. In 1990, she made a debut in cinema through Tales from the Darkside: The Movie. Short Cuts, both produced by Robert Altman (1993), and 3 Women, also productions by Altman (1997) included among her movies. The actress received a number of nominations, and received praise for her debut film. Moore got her first role as the lead role for the film Safe (1996). Steven Spielberg's choice to cast Moore as the lead in Jurassic Park: The Lost World which was one of the highest grossing films from 1997, was a significant moment in her career. In 1999, she received a SAG Award for her performance in Magnolia. The Hours, a 2002 film in which she co-starred with Nicole Kidman and Meryl Strreep was nominated for 9 Academy Awards. Moore has also appeared in The Forgotten 2004, Freedomland, Shelter and Shelter 2010. Non-Stop the film in which she appeared in 2014 was released. Moore is an established star in many television shows and movies. Moore's latest role as a leading actress is In When You Finish saving the World (2022). In Hollywood as well, she has become a published author for kids. In 2007, she released Freckleface Strawberry, which became an NY Times bestseller. Bestseller. The book was made into a series as well as a music. The year 2013 saw her release the book, My Mom is an American. Moore has a public life as a well-known writer and actress. In 1984 she married John Robin and in 1995 they separated. Bart Freundlich, whom Moore then married in 2003 has two children with her. Moore's focus is on her friends, family and career.
